生化/生理作用
四氧化锇也被称为锇,主要用作组织的二次固定剂。该分子与脂类部分反应,并负责氧化脂肪酸的不饱和键。这种反应增加了生物样品的密度和对比度。在正常组织中,锇的存在导致强烈的黑色染色,正常眼睛可以看到。此外,它还可用作电子显微镜检查中的媒染剂(在后期与染色剂或染料结合的分子),从而增强铅染色。
