General description

Choline chloride (ChCl) is a quaternary ammonium salt. The unusual solvent properties of eutectic mixtures of urea and choline chloride make it useful as a biodegradable ambient-temperature solvent for a number of applications.

Application


  • Profiling and optimized extraction of bioactive polyphenolic compounds from young, red-fleshed apple using eco-friendly deep eutectic solvents.: This research demonstrates the use of choline chloride-based deep eutectic solvents (DES) as a green alternative for extracting polyphenolic compounds from apples. The study highlights DESs effectiveness in yielding high-quality extracts, which could revolutionize natural product extraction processes in the food industry (Yu et al., 2024).

  • 17beta-estradiol induces hyperresponsiveness in guinea pig airway smooth muscle by inhibiting the plasma membrane Ca(2+)-ATPase.: This research utilizes choline chloride in physiological experiments to investigate the mechanisms through which estradiol affects calcium signaling in airway smooth muscle.
