应用
胆盐混合物适合用于加入多种培养基，如麦康凯琼脂、SS琼脂和结晶紫中性红胆盐琼脂。它通过抑制革兰氏阳性菌提高培养基对肠杆菌的选择性。可作为培养基选择剂用于选择性培养肠道细菌，包括大肠杆菌、其他粪便大肠菌群和粪便链球菌。也作为培养基选择剂用于检测小肠结肠炎耶尔森菌、嗜水气单胞菌和弧菌属。
