  1. Is Product A7906, Albumin from bovine serum (BSA), suitable for use as a blocking agent in ELISA?

    We have not tested the use of A7906 in ELISA. Because the remainder of the product is mostly globulins, we would not suggest A7906 for ELISA use.

  2. Is Product A7906, Albumin from bovine serum (BSA), protease-free?

    We have not tested A7906 in quality control to be protease-free. Other BSA products to suggest that are protease-free would be A3059 or B6917.

  3. Can Product A7906, Albumin from bovine serum (BSA), be used in immunohistochemistry?

    We have not ourselves tested A7906 for use in immunohistochemistry. However, a literature search can turn up publications that cite this use, such as this paper: Surendran, K., et al., Wnt-Dependent Beta-Catenin Signaling Is Activated after Unilateral Ureteral Obstruction, and Recombinant Secreted Frizzled-Related Protein 4 Alters the Progression of Renal Fibrosis. J. Am. Soc. Nephrol., Vol. 16, pp. 2373-2384 (2005).

  4. Is Product A7906, Albumin from bovine serum (BSA), tested for insulin levels?

    A7906 is not tested in quality control for insulin levels. One BSA that is indicated as "suitable for insulin RIA procedures" is A7888.
