General description

o-Toluidine is one of the metabolites of prilocaine and a causative agent of methaemoglobinemia, associated with exceeding doses of prilocaine.
This compound is listed in the SVHC (Substances of very high concern) candidate list of ECHA (European Chemicals Agency)

Application

o-Toluidine may be used as a reference standard for the determination of o-toluidine in water samples by gas chromatographic method following solid-phase extraction and derivatization with iodine.
