Biochem/physiol Actions
Clone 8C detects Lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluronic acid receptor 1. It targets an epitope within the ectodomain region.
General description
Lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluronic acid receptor 1 (UniProt: Q9Y5Y7; LYVE-1, Cell surface retention sequence-binding protein 1, CRSBP-1,Extracellular link domain-containing protein 1,Hyaluronic acid receptor) is encoded by the LYVE1 (also known as CRSBP1, HAR, XLKD1,UNQ230/PRO263) gene (Gene ID: 10894) in human. LYVE-1 is a disulfide-linked, homodimeric, single-pass type I membrane protein that undergoes ligand-dependent internalization and recycling at the cell surface. It serves as a ligand-specific transporter trafficking between intracellular organelles (TGN) and the plasma membrane. It is mainly expressed in endothelial cells lining lymphatic vessels. It is expressed on both the luminal and basolateral surfaces of lymphatic endothelium. It is reported to mediate the uptake of intermediate and high molecular weight hyaluronan (HA) and serves as a low affinity receptor for HA-induced lymphoangiogenesis. It also controls the entry and/or migration of leukocytes in lymphatic vessels. The capacity of LYVE-1 to bind HA is based on a receptor distribution and organization of the glycosaminoglycans.
