Anti-UCHL1 Antibody, clone MCA-BH7

Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase isozyme L1 (UCH-L1), a thiol protease belonging to the peptidase C12 family, is involved in the processing of ubiquitin precursors and of ubiquitinated proteins. UCH-L1 recognizes and hydrolyzes peptide bonds at the C-termial glycine of ubiquitin. UCH-L1 is expressed in neurons and cells of the diffuse neuroendocrine system and their tumors. Defects in UCH-L1 are the cause of Parkinson disease type 5.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:2,000 dilution from a representative lot detected UCHL1 in 10 µg of human brain tissue lysate.

Immunofluorescence Analysis: A 1:2,000 dilution from a representative lot detected UCHL1 in rat brain spinal cord tissue (Gerry Shaw. EnCor Biotechnology, Inc., Gainesville, Florida).

Evaluated by Western Blotting in rat brain spinal cord tissue lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:2,000 dilution of this antibody detected UCHL1 in 10 µg of rat brain tissue lysate.
