Evaluated by Western Blotting in Interleukin 7 cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: 0.5 µg/mL of this antibody detected 0.5 µg of recombinant Interleukin-7/IL-7.

Flow Cytometry Analysis: 1 µg of this antibody detected recombinant Interleukin-7/IL-7 in Jurkat T and Raji B lymphocytes.

This Anti-Interleukin-7/IL-7 Antibody, clone 7B1.1 is validated for use in western blotting & flow cytometry for the detection of Interleukin-7/IL-7.

The protein named IL-7, or interleukin 7 is a hematopoietic growth factor secreted by stromal cell in the bone marrow and thymus but also produced by many other cell types including keratinocytes, epithelial cells, hepatocytes and macrophage/dendritic cells but not by classical lymphocytes. IL7 is a cytokine that has multiple functions and is critical for proper T cell maturation and lymphoid cell survival, and its expression stimulates the proliferation of B cells, T cell and NK cells. IL-7 is detected by cells via its receptor and binding results in a cascade of signals important for T cell development and for T cell survival within the periphery, as well as memory T cells. IL-7 expression is upregulated in various lymphomas and leukemias and because of its effects on T cell development IL-7 is being examined as a therapeutic agent for transplantation studies and even latent viral infection studies.
