一般描述

髓鞘少突胶质细胞糖蛋白(MOG)是多发性硬化症原发性脱髓鞘的关键CNS特异性自身抗原。尽管已经确定了MOG的疾病诱导作用,但其在中枢神经系统中的确切功能仍然不清楚。 MOG是具有单个细胞外Ig可变域(Ig-V)(3、13、14)的I型整合膜蛋白。MOG的氨基酸序列在动物物种中高度保守(>90%),表明其重要的生物学功能。MOG在髓鞘最外层的中枢神经系统以及少突胶质细胞的细胞体和过程中特异性表达。MOG的发育后期表达与髓鞘生成的后期相关,表明MOG在髓鞘的完成、紧实和/或维持中起作用,进一步表明MOG在CNS中具有粘附功能。与MOG′在CNS中可能的粘附作用一致,MOG的同型二聚体形式不仅在与CNS分离后观察到,而且还在原位观察到。
