聚唾液酸(PSA)是一种长的线性均聚物，附着在神经细胞粘附分子(NCAM)上。它具有下调多种接触依赖性细胞相互作用的显著能力。据信该活性源于带电聚合物占据大的水合体积的能力，从而引起细胞–细胞接触的直接物理障碍。已显示PSA的调节表达可促进细胞相互作用的减少，从而为各种组织的结构变化创造允许的条件。
PSA的最广泛表达发生在早期发育过程中的前体细胞上，并在细胞分裂后促进这些细胞的迁移中起作用。在大多数情况下，PSA表达在迁移过程完成后会丢失。但是，神经元的轴突通常在轴突寻路过程中保留PSA以适当地束缚、发芽和分支。

免疫原

B组活脑膜炎球菌（菌株355）。

应用

使用该抗聚唾液酸-NCAM抗体，克隆2-2B检测聚唾液酸-NCAM，该抗体经验证可用于IC、IH、RIA&WB，产品引用超过30次。
蛋白质印迹： 一个先前批次以1:500-1:1,000浓度被用于WBC。

免疫细胞/组织化学：该抗体的一个先前批次以1:200-1:400稀释度对活细胞和固定细胞、冷冻或用任何类型的固定剂固定的组织切片起作用。（Rougon等，1986；Theodosis等，1991，1999）。不建议将抗体用于石蜡包埋的组织，因为它会产生可变的结果。

放射免疫分析(RIA):
该抗体的一个先前批次被用于RIA。（Figarella-Branger et al.，1996）

细胞分选和细胞淘洗（Ben-Hur et al.，1998）

最佳工作稀释度必须由最终用户确定。

生化/生理作用

与α2-8连接的神经氨酸（NeuAc-alpha 2-8）n和n > 10反应。这种聚合物通常被称为聚唾液酸(PSA)。在脊椎动物中，PSA与神经细胞粘附分子（NCAM，CD56）连接，在细菌中，PSA与脑膜炎球菌菌株B组的荚膜相关。
该单克隆抗体对所有表达PSA-NCAM的物种（包括小鼠）均有效。

外形

小鼠单克隆IgM，溶于含50%甘油的缓冲液中，不含防腐剂。

制备说明

自接收之日起，未稀释的等分试样在-20ºC下可稳定保存1年。
处理建议：接收后，在取下盖子之前，离心小瓶并轻轻混合溶液。分装至微量离心管中，并储存于-20°C。避免反复冻融循环，否则可能损坏IgM并影响产品性能。注释：冷冻箱温度变化至低于-20°C时可能导致含甘油的溶液在储存过程中冻结。

分析说明

对照
阳性对照组织：幼鼠海马，人海马。
通过免疫组织化学对海马进行常规评估。

免疫组织化学（石蜡）分析：
PSA-NCAM（目录号MAB5324）在人海马体上的代表性染色模式/形态。用EDTA pH 8预处理的组织，抗原修复。使用带有HRP-DAB的IHC-Select Detection将抗体稀释至1:100。免疫反应性被视为神经元的质膜染色。
