General description
多梳蛋白家族复合物负责哺乳动物和昆虫中数百个基因的调控。这些蛋白质负责染色质的组装和包装,并诱导组蛋白H3甲基化。EZH1 是PRC2/EED-EZH1 复合物的催化亚基。该复合物使组蛋白H3的Lys-27 甲基化,从而导致受影响靶基因的转录抑制。EZH1是胚胎干细胞衍生和自我更新所必需的,这说明它涉及胚胎干细胞的维持。
