General description
The Apelin receptor (APJ receptor) is a Gi/o-coupled protein with significant sequence homology to the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor. It is activated by apelin peptides (12, 17, or 36 amino acids). The effects of the apelin receptor are mediated mainly through the activation of protein kinase C and calcium signaling. The apelin receptor has been detected in the brain, heart, spleen, thymus, ovary, small intestine, and colon. Several studies have suggested that it is involved in regulating cardiovascular function and glucose homeostasis.
~62 kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight of this protein is 42 kDa, but can be observed at ~62 kDa due to high glycosylation. (Medhurst, A., et al (2003). Journal of Neurochemistry. 84:1162–1172.)

MicroRNAs regulate cardiac hypertrophy development, which precedes and predicts the risk of heart failure. microRNA-204-5p (miR-204) is well expressed in cardiomyocytes, but its role in developing cardiac hypertrophy and cardiac dysfunction (CH/CD) remains poorly understood. We performed RNA-sequencing, echocardiographic, and
