General description

Previous studies from our lab demonstrated that the crosstalk between brain-metastasizing melanoma cells and microglia, the macrophage-like cells of the central nervous system, fuels progression to metastasis. In the present study, an in-depth investigation of melanoma-microglia interactions elucidated a pro-metastatic

The intrinsic molecular mechanism for controlling inflammasome activation is still poorly understood. Here we investigated the role of p120-catenin expression

Pathways and Biomarkers of JAK/STAT Signaling

The Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducers and activators of transcription (STAT) signaling pathway plays an important role in cell proliferation, cell differentiation, cell migration, and cell death. It is the principal signaling mechanism for a variety of cytokines and growth factors. Constitutive activation or dysregulation of JAK/STAT signaling can result in inflammatory disease, erythrocytosis, gigantism, and leukemia.
