一种细胞可渗透性环己基氨基-茚酮化合物，可作为变构抑制剂，对抗底物结合诱导的Dusp1/CL100/HVH1/MKP1/PTPN10和Dusp6/MKP3/PYST1的MAPK磷酸酶活性（通过0.21 µg Dusp6，将0.21和2.1 µg ERK2诱导的OMFP脱磷酸化，分别降低57%和30%），通过将Dusp1和Dusp6锁定在其低活性构象中，而对Cdc25B，DUSP3/VHR，DUSP5或PTP1B几乎没有活性。已显示可有效增强过表达人Dusp1和Dusp6的HeLa细胞中的细胞Erk磷酸化（EC50分别为11.5和12.3 µM）。据报道，在斑马鱼胚胎发育过程中，BCI治疗（5至10 µM）激活FGF信号传导可扩大心肌祖细胞的人群，但以其他祖细胞类型为代价，从而导致心脏增大。
