General description

50 kDa
组蛋白的翻译后修饰，例如磷酸化，乙酰化和甲基化，对于染色质重塑至关重要。SUV39H1和SUV39H1分别是果蝇Su(var)3-9蛋白的人和小鼠同源物。这些蛋白质在赖氨酸9处选择性地甲基化组蛋白H3，从而形成HP1蛋白质（异染色质蛋白质1）的高亲和力结合位点。已知HP1蛋白与转录抑制蛋白相互作用，表明与SUV39H1和甲基化组蛋白H3的相互作用介导了对靶基因转录的沉默作用。此外，HeLa细胞中SUV39H1的过表达会导致内源性HP1蛋白的重新分布和生长迟缓，这表明SUV39H1介导的异染色质调节会损害细胞周期进程。
