1,2-dipalmitoyl-d62-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (16:0 PE-d62) is a deuterated phosphoethanolamine (PE) in which 62 protons of dipalmitoyl are replaced.
Deuterated fatty acids experience exchange of the deuteriums on the alpha carbon to the carbonyl, i.e., C2 position, and will therefore be a mixture of compounds that are fully deuterated and partially deuterated at that position.

应用

1,2-dipalmitoyl-d62-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (16:0 PE-d62) has been used as an apolar lipid internal standard for mass spectrometry. It may be used in the preparation of levuglandin hydroxylactam.
