一般描述
The list of Phosphatidylcholine products offered by Avanti is designed to provide compounds having a variety of physical properties. Products available include short chain (C3-C8 are water soluble and hygroscopic), saturated, multi-unsaturated and mixed acid PC′s. All of the products are purified by HPLC, and special precautions are taken to protect the products for oxidization and hydrolysis.
The mucosal layer of the colon has phosphatidylcholine (PC) as a vital constituent. PCs have fatty acids in the sn-1 and sn-2 positions, that are covalently attached to a glycerol with the help of ester bonds.

23:0 PC may be used:
- in unilamellar liposomes preparation to study its interaction with single-strand phosphorothioate oligonucleotides (ONs)
- as an internal standard to validate the extracted lipids from bovine plasma
- as an internal standard to quantify fatty acids and cholesterol in H1299 cells
