一般描述
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) carries a positively charged quaternary amine and a negatively charged phosphate in its headgroup. It is an important component of mammalian membranes.
The list of Phosphatidylcholine products offered by Avanti is designed to provide compounds having a variety of physical properties. Products available include short chain (C3-C8 are water soluble and hygroscopic), saturated, multi-unsaturated and mixed acid PC′s. All of the products are purified by HPLC, and special precautions are taken to protect the products for oxidization and hydrolysis.
应用
15:0 PC (1,2-dipentadecanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) may be used:
- as a component in fluidizing lipid bilayers to study the role of membrane fluidity in mediating membrane sensitivity to small hydrophobic peptides or haptoglobin-related protein (SHP-1)
- to prepare giant unilamellar lipid vesicles (GUVs)
- to construct supported phospholipid bilayers to study the gel-fluid phase transition behavior using in situ, temperature-dependent atomic force microscopy
生化/生理作用
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is capable of preventing the penetrance of bacteria by acting as a surfactant. This phospholipid is capable of forming a strong bilayer.

We utilize in situ, temperature-dependent atomic force microscopy to examine the gel-fluid phase transition behavior in supported phospholipid bilayers constructed from 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, 1,2-dipentadecanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, and 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine. The primary gel-fluid phase transition at T(m) occurs through development of anisotropic cracks in the

Increased soil nitrogen (N), warming and bark herbivory all are expected to affect boreal forests in the future. We studied the effects of warming (0.5 °C and 4.0 °C above ambient air and soil temperature, respectively), moderate N addition (30 kg N ha-1 y-1) and bark

We reveal that the gel to fluid phase transition causes spherical membrane vesicles to release a finite number of molecules in several consecutive and localized events. By locally melting Giant Unilamellar lipid Vesicles (GUVs), using an optically trapped gold nanoparticle
