General description
月桂是单萜。 Ips spp 的雄性在暴露于月桂烯蒸汽时产生信息素齿小蠹二烯醇（2-甲基-6-亚甲基-2,7-辛二烯-4-醇）和/或齿小蠹烯醇（2-甲基-6-亚甲基-7-辛烯-4-醇）。月桂烯是萜烯醇的前体。月桂是甲虫宿主的组成部分——西黄松。钌、铬、铱和铑络合物催化月桂烯加氢生成单氢化产物、二氢化产物和三氢化产物的复杂混合物。
