    Although Sigma-Aldrich does not test the solubility of the silver salt, per the chemicals encyclopedia published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (13th ed.), sulfadiazine is sparingly soluble in water (13mg/100mL at pH 5.5 and 200mg/100mL at pH 7.5), alcohol, and acetone and freely soluble in dilute mineral acids , solutions of potassium and sodium hydroxide, and aqueous ammonium hydroxide.

    Although silver sulfadiazine has some potential medical applications, including antibacterial actions and treatment of second and third-degree burns, this product as it is sold is not intended for use with or on humans.
