Major phase is Ni3S2. Product may also include a small amount of sulfur-rich phase. Nickel Sulfide (Ni3S2) exists as a heazlewoodite mineral in nature. The structure of Ni3S2 is hombohedral. Raman spectral analysis of Ni3S2 has been reported.[1]

Nickel sulfide was implanted in mice, to induce the growth of malignant fibrous histiocytomas.[2]
