C10orf54 gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily that is also called ′Platelet receptor GI24 precursor′ or ′stress-induced secreted protein 1 (SISP1)′. It positively regulates and serves as a substrate for matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 mediated by membrane type (MT) 1–MMP and plays a role in tumor-invasive growth in the collagen matrix.
