General description

Phenazopyridine hydrochloride is a commercial coloring azo dye, which exhibits an analgesic effect on mucosa of the urinary tract. It is also used to provide symptomatic relief of pain in conditions such as cystitis and urethritis. It can also be used in combination with a suitable antibacterial agent in order to treat urinary tract infections.
