Gene Information

human ... NOS3(4846)

General description

NOS3 (nitric oxide synthase 3) is located on human chromosome 7q36.

Immunogen

Peptide sequence around aa. 1175-1179 (T-Q-S-F-S), according to the protein NOS3.

Application

Anti-NOS3 (Ab-1177) antibody has been used in western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Modifications in the NOS3 (nitric oxide synthase 3) gene leads to erectile dysfunction susceptibility, age of onset and severity. In heart, NOS3 helps in NO (nitric oxide) synthesis. It also controls vascular tone and blood pressure.

Features and Benefits

Evaluate our antibodies with complete peace of mind. If the antibody does not perform in your application, we will issue a full credit or replacement antibody. Learn more.

Target description

Produces nitric oxide (NO) which is implicated in vascular smooth muscle relaxation through a cGMP-mediated signal transduction pathway. NO mediates vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-induced angiogenesis in coronary vessels and promotes blood clotting through the activation of platelets.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol

One third of newly diagnosed breast cancers in the US are early-stage lesions. The etiological understanding and treatment of these lesions have become major clinical challenges. Because breast cancer risk factors are often linked to aberrant nitric oxide (NO) production
