General description

For Gases and Low Molecular Weight Compounds (MW 30-225)
Nitinol-core (NIT) SPME fibers were specifically engineered to be more reproducible and more robust than traditional SPME fibers that contain a fused silica (FS) core. The NIT fibers offer > 30% improvement in lot to lot and fiber to fiber reproducibility when compared to the FS versions, but offer equivalent selectivity for easy transfer of methods from FS to the more robust, reproducible NIT version.
We are committed to bringing you greener alternative products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This is a Solid Phase Microextraction (SPME) technology product. SPME is one of the greener technologies for sample preparation as it is solvent free extraction technology and SPME fibres are re-usable and generates as little waste as possible, thus aligns with "Waste Prevention”, and ″Safer Solvents and Auxiliaries″. HS-SPME with Carboxen®/PDMS coated Nitinol fiber allows low MW analyte detection in light-exposed milk plastics.

A comparison between Carboxen®/PDMS coated nitinol core and fused silica core adsorbent SPME fibers for factors, such as coating process, testing process, inertness, raw materials, and durability.

SPME fibers with CAR/PDMS and PDMS/DVB coatings on nitinol core assembly enhance fiber performance for solid phase microextraction.

The work describes the development of an HS-SPME-GC-MS method to determine 2-chloroethanol as a marker of fumigant ethylene oxide in different kinds of sesame seed samples.

Protocols

High performance, reliability, and reproducibility of HS-SPME in combination with GC/MS for the determination of VOCs in water was proven in an interlaboratory trial. The new ISO 17943 using HS-SPME is an improvement on existing official methods for this determination in terms of sensitivity and selectivity.
