General description

γ-Tocopherol is a form of fat-soluble vitamin E and shows anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cell proliferative, and anti-cancer properties.

Application

The analytical standard can also be used as follows:
  • Development and validation of a normal-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (NP-HPLC) method, along with fluorescence detection, to simultaneously determine four tocopherols and four lignans in sesame oil samples
  • Simultaneous determination of vitamin A and all four tocopherol isomers in human serum samples by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) combined with fluorescence detection following their liquid-liquid extraction (LLE)
  • Separation and estimation of four tocopherols and four tocotrienols in pecan nut cultivar samples using non-aqueous reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (NARP-HPLC) coupled with atmospheric pressure chemical ionization-tandem mass spectrometric (APCI-MS/MS) detection
  • Analysis of different cold pressed oil samples to detect and quantify eight tocol- homologs using a chemometrically-assisted optimized high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence detection (FLD) based method
  • Multi-residue determination of tocopherols in aromatic peanut oil (APO) and four refined vegetable oils using high-performance liquid chromatography with UV detection to detect adulteration

The effect of climate warming on the reproductive success of ectothermic animals is currently a subject of major conservation concern. However, for many threatened species, we still know surprisingly little about the extent of naturally occurring adaptive variation in heat-tolerance.
