General description

The PDGFRB (platelet derived growth factor receptor β) gene is mapped to human chromosome 5q32. It encodes for a receptor tyrosine kinase.

Specificity

This antibody reacts to human CD140b (PDGFR-beta) (Platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta).

Immunogen

A peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human CD140b.

Biochem/physiol Actions

PDGFRB (platelet derived growth factor receptor β) acts as a regulator of mesenchymal cells in tumour cells. Upregulation of the gene is observed in gastric cancer, breast and prostate cancers. Mutations in the gene is associated with infantile myofibromatosis.
