General description

Anti-MDM2 antibody detects endogenous levels of total MDM2 protein.
Murine double minute 2 (MDM2) is an oncogenic protein. It is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, that is mapped to human chromosome 12q15.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human MDM2.

Immunogen Range: 132-181

Application

Anti-MDM2 antibody has been used in immunohistochemistry.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Murine double minute 2 (MDM2) is a negative regulator of the p53 tumor suppressor. It regulates cell cycle, cellular differentiation, cell fate determination, DNA repair and transcription. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition and metastasis of ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells are induced by MDM2.
