General description
NIMA-related Kinase 7/never in mitosis A-related kinase 7 (NEK7), a serine/threonine kinase belongs to the NIMA-related protein kinase (NEK) family. It is the smallest NIMA-related kinase (NEK) protein seen in mammals, which is made up of a catalytic domain with a 30–40 amino acid N-terminal extension. NEK7 is abundantly expressed in the heart, liver, testis, lung, muscle, brain, spleen, and leukocyte. The NEK7 gene is located on human chromosome 1.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human NEK7.

Biochem/physiol Actions
NIMA-related Kinase 7/never in mitosis A-related kinase 7 (NEK7) is essential to form procentriole. It participates in regulating the cell cycle. In addition to the pathological and physiological effects, NEK7 is also involved in the formation of the spindle during mitosis. It is expressed at a high level in gallbladder cancer. NEK7 controls cytokinesis and stability of the microtubule. It can activate the spindle assembly checkpoint. NEK7 might also be associated with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

NEK7 is the smallest NIMA-related kinase (NEK) in mammals. The pathological and physiological roles of NEK7 have been widely reported in many studies. To date, the major function of NEK7 has been well documented in mitosis and NLRP3 inflammasome activation

NIMA-related kinase-7 (Nek7) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in cell-cycle progression via mitotic spindle formation and cytokinesis. In this study, we investigated whether Nek7 involves in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Interestingly, we found that Nek7 was significantly overexpressed in HCC than

The decision to commit to the cell cycle is made during G1 through the concerted action of various cyclin-CDK complexes. Not only DNA replication, but also centriole duplication is initiated as cells enter the S-phase. The NIMA-related kinase NEK7 is
