General description
Cytoskeletal protein involved in actin-membrane attachment at sites of cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix (focal adhesion).
PXN (paxillin) is a focal adhesion-associated tyrosine-based protein, that is present in the cytoplasm. It is a 68kDa protein that is located on chromosome 12q24.
Immunogen
Peptide sequence around aa. 86-90 (P-V-Y-G-S), according to the protein PXN.
Application
Anti-PXN (Ab-88) antibody has been used in immunofluorescence.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Paxillin (PXN) controls signal transduction, cell morphology and motility, cytoskeletal rearrangements, proliferation and apoptosis. It serves as an oncogene, hence it plays a major role in the growth of human carcinomas.
Features and Benefits
Evaluate our antibodies with complete peace of mind. If the antibody does not perform in your application, we will issue a full credit or replacement antibody. Learn more.
