MaxGel ECM is used for the following applications:
  • Extracellular matrix (ECM) protein binding assays
  • Cell invasion assay
  • Cell culture
This product creates a three-dimensional environment that improves cellular proflieration by promoting cell growth and migration, and has been shown to aid the proliferation of many types of cells, including human embryonic stem cells, neural stem cells, neurons, glia, astrocytes, fibroblasts, hepatocytes, and keratinocytes.

Components

MaxGel ECM contains human extracellular matrix components including collagens, laminin, fibronectin, tenascin, elastin and a number of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans. This basement membrane extract reproduces the cooperative interactions between epithelia and mesenchyme that occur during the development and organotypic cell culture of skin.

Caution

MaxGel will remain stable for at least 1 year when stored at -70°C.

    Yes, this product works for both cell types.

  6. How is Product E0282, MaxGel ECM, supplied?

    E0282 is supplied at a concentration of 1 mg/ml in DMEM. 

  7. What is an appropriate working concentration for Product E0282, MaxGel ECM?

    MaxGel works best undiluted or even diluted 1:2-1:4.  For a thin coat plating method, this material can be diluted as high as 1:100. 

  8. How do I handle Product E0282, MaxGel ECM?

    Remove the product from the freezer and thaw on ice just prior to use. It quickly forms a gel when allowed to warm to room temperature, so it is necessary to keep the product on ice until coating.
