General description

4-Methylumbelliferyl-β-D-glucuronide hydrate (MUG) is a fluorogenic substrate.[1]

Application

4-Methylumbelliferyl-β-D-glucuronide hydrate (MUG) has been used:
  • as a β-glucuronidase (GUS) substrate for fluorimetric analysis of reporter gene expression in Arabidopsis thaliana[2]
  • for the fluorimetric assay for GUS activity[3][4]
  • to measure liposome lysis by n-octylglucoside[5]
