General description

Imidazole is a buffering agent employed in various research applications, with a pH 9 -11, it is often used to maintain a stable pH for protein samples. Imidazole is a heterocyclic compound with a five-membered planar ring that is amphoteric, highly polar, and commonly used for affinity chromatography. Its ability to bind to metal ions makes it particularly useful for purification and separation of proteins.

Application

Imidazole is commonly used as a buffer component for purification of the histidine-tagged recombinant proteins in immobilized metal-affinity chromatography (IMAC).
Excellent for buffers in the range of pH 6.2-7.8

Features and Benefits

  • Redi-Dri packaging controls moisture for hygroscopic chemicals that commonly clump
  • Anhydrous powder remains free-flowing and easy to use
  • Safer to handle and weigh out for routine use in lab
  • Eliminates clumps to maintain product moisture and quality
