Gene Information

human ... LIMK1(3984)

General description

LIM Kinase 1 (LIMK1) is a protein kinase that plays an important role in cellular functions like cell motility and growth cone actin dynamics. LIMK1 contains one PDZ domain and two LIM domains which mediate protein to protein inteactions. It is widely expressed in the adult and fetal nervous system with the highest levels being found in the cerebral cortex. Mutations in LIMK1 have been associated with cardiovascular and musculo-skeletal abnormalities.

Specificity

The antibody recognizes LIMK1.

Immunogen

Epitope: Unknown
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to a region of mouse LIMK1.
