General description

The Immobilon®-FL transfer membrane is a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) microporous membrane with a nominal pore size of 0.45 μm. It is designed for binding proteins transferred from a variety of gel matrices. The Immobilon®-FL transfer membrane is hydrophobic and offers a uniformly controlled pore structure with a high binding capacity for biomolecules. The membrane offers optimal blotting for proteins with molecular weights greater than 20,000. The Immobilon®-FL membrane displays very low autofluorescence across a wide range of excitation/emission wavelengths. This property makes it ideal for blotting applications involving fluorescence-based immunodetection. Immobilon®-FL membrane can also be used for standard chemiluminescent or chromogenic detection.

Application

Immobilon-FL PVDF Membrane has been used in western blotting.

Features and Benefits

Immobilon-FL Membrane:
  • The first transfer membrane optimized for fluorescence applications; Extremely low background enhances the sensitivity of all fluorescence detection protocols
  • Compatible with all commonly used fluorescent probes at a wide range of excitation/emission wavelengths
  • Best for multiplexing and chemifluorescence detections
  • compatible with standard blocking agents and buffers
