MAS-100 NT^® with Filter

The MAS-100 NT^® with filter microbial air monitoring system is a high performance, portable, battery operated instrument which is based on the principle of the Andersen air sampler. These compact yet sophisticated device is the preferred choice for those demanding the highest quality in microbial air monitoring. A specified amount of air is aspirated through a 300-hole x 0.6 mm perforated lid and impacted onto the surface of growth media in standard 90-100 mm Petri dishes Also 55-60 mm contact plates can be used with specified adapters and perforated lids. Microorganisms are impacted onto agar and, after an appropriate incubation period, the colonies are counted. The system measures the airflow and regulates it to a constant value of 100 standard litres/min A Standard Liter per Minute (SLPM) is adjusted to a specific environmental temperature and pressure, this ensure the amount of air sampled is always the same independent of environmental conditions. The MAS-100 NT^® systems have the highest airflow accuracy of ± 2.5 %, compared to others that can be as high as ±10 %. The integrated flow sensor and high precision of perforated lids allows the user to freely interchange the perforated lids without affecting the accuracy or the calibration of the unit. The instruments are independently validated according to ISO 14698-1 with very good physical efficiency providing a D50 value below 1 μm and also high biological efficiency results. The MAS-100 NT^® w. filter is powered by a Lithium ion rechargeable battery with an intelligent charging program that assures long battery life without routine discharging.The MAS-100 NT^® with filter is specified for use in ISO Class 5/ GMP Grade A environments and is equipped with a brushless motor which generates a minimal quantity of particles, so that no filter is required even for GMP Grade A usage. If instruments are used in different cleanroom classes, there is a minor risk that particles may be carried over inside an instrument. In this case, a MAS-100 NT^® with Filter equipped with with a HEPA H13 particle filter at the exhaust prevents any potential transfer of particles from higher to lower contaminated areas. The filtration efficiency of 99.95% has been verified under worst case conditions. Furthermore the filter has no significant influence on the airflow calibration and therefore microbial sampling efficiency. In addition, stressing the filter for a simulated year of heavy usage in an uncontrolled environment does not reduce the filtration efficiency and won′t clog the filter. It is recommended to replace the filter on a yearly basis by a new HEPA H13 Filter, 74 mm for MAS-100 NT^®/MAS-100 NT^® Ex with filter.

Microbial air sampling devices are extensively used in Pharmaceutical applications. Additionally, a regulation for compounding pharmacies, USP797, that requires active air sampling in the level 5 and above areas.

Now available: The new SafeLid for the MAS-100 NT^® air sampler

Safe Lid is a disposable, ready-to use alternative to the autoclavable standard perforated lid made from aluminum. It is made of 100% recyclable Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and comes in 30 individually double-packed and sterilized pieces per package. The Safe Lid has the same sieve configuration as the standard perforated lid with 300 holesof 0.6 mm diameter. This ensures an identical impact velocity of 19.6 m/s and anominal d50 of 1.1 μm. The simplified validation of the recovery rates according to EN 17141 resulted incomparable values for both perforated lids.
