Application

p-Anisaldehyde may be used as a triplet sensitizer to catalyze the photochemical intermolecular atom-transfer radical addition (ATRA) of haloalkanes onto olefins.[1] It can be used to synthesize 2-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-N-(4-(N-(1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)sulfamoyl)phenyl) hydrazinecarbothioamide.[2] It is also used as a stain for detecting non UV-active substances using thin layer chromatography (TLC).[3]
