一般描述
琼脂糖是从琼脂或含有琼脂的海藻中提取的聚合物。这种纯化的线性半乳聚糖亲水胶体由交替的D-半乳糖和3,6-脱水-L-半乳糖共聚物以α-(1→3)和β-(1→4)糖苷键连接而成。琼脂糖具有很高的生物相容性，具有可变的机械和扩散性能。
应用
琼脂糖已用于：
- 凝胶电泳
- 制备2x琼脂糖溶液，联用添加补充剂的2xMEM培养基作为空斑形成试验的覆盖培养基
