Application

Carboxine is an anilide fungicide for bunts and smuts that is normally used as a seed treatment on rice, vegetables, corn wheat, barley, oats, turf grass and cotton. It is moderately soluble in water, is non-volatile and, based on its chemical properties, would not normally be expected to leach to groundwater. As per regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 carboxin is not approved for use as a plant protection product in the European Union. Maximum residue levels (MRLs) are given for carboxine (carboxine plus its metabolites carboxine sulfoxide and oxycarboxin), expressed as carboxine under Reg. (EU) 2019/90 for various food of plant and animal origin between 0.03 and 0.1 mg/kg. The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
