General description

This certified reference material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034. This CRM is traceable to primary material from an NMI, e.g. NIST or NMIJ. Certified content by quantitative NMR incl. uncertainty and expiry date are given on the certificate. Download your certificate at: http://www.sigma-aldrich.com

Iprobenfos belongs to a group of phosphorothiolate fungicides with both curative and protective properties. It is effective against Pyricularia oryzae, Helminthosporium sigmoideum, Magnaporthe salvinii, and Rhizoctonia solani and is widely applied to control rice leaf and ear blast, stem rot, and rice sheath blight in rice. Iprobenfos is a systemic fungicide that hinders phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis through inhibition of methyltransferase, thereby, interfering with membrane structure.

According to Regulation (EC) 1107/2009, repealing Council Directive 91/414/EEC, iprobenfos is not approved for use in European Union (EU). A default MRL of 0.01 mg/kg is set according to Art 18(1)(b) Reg 396 / 2005.

Application

The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
The iprobenfos CRM may also find following uses:
  • Sensitive detection of iprobenfos and edifenphos using gold nanoparticle, AuNP-based colorimetric multi-aptasensor from rice samples
  • To investigate light-induced catalytic degradation of iprobenfos fungicide using poly(3-octylthiophene-2,5-diyl) film by varying oxygen pressure of bubbling gases
  • To determine the variation in sensitivity of Magnaporthe oryzae isolates from different geographic areas towards edifenphos and iprobenfos fungicides
  • To study the response of zooplankton community against the application of simetryn and iprobenfos using natural zooplankton community in microcosm tanks
  • To evaluate and compare the virulence of Magnaporthe oryzae isolates sensitive and resistant to edifenphos and iprobenfos on rice plants treated with or without fungicides
