General description

Endrin aldehyde can be obtained as an oxidation product of the pesticide endrin, upon exposure to light or heat.
Endrin aldehyde is an organochlorine type of pesticide.

Application

Endrin aldehyde may be used as a reference standard for the analysis of endrin aldehyde in:
  • Airborne particulate matter samples by using ultrasound assisted extraction micro-scale cell (UAE-MSC) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry in negative chemical ionization (GC/MS-NCI) mode.
  • Seawater samples by solid-phase extraction (SPE) and UAE followed by analysis using GC coupled to triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS).
  • Brackish water fish by GC-MS.
  • Biological matrices by quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) extraction and GC-MS/MS.
