General description

Type 304 Stainless steel is covered by highly protective film of chromium oxyhydroxide. Hydrochloric acid solution readily attacks 304SS. Hence, it is recommended to add inhibitors like heterocyclic compounds to reduce the corrosion rate. 304SS material is suitable for tubing and for wires as it exhibit strength and is corrosion resistant.
Grade 304 tubing, specially cleaned to ensure inertness. Use for sensitive GC-MS applications.

Application

304SS tubing may be used to make homemade reactor coil for gas chromatography oven to determine the effect of thermal volume expansion of solvents under superheated conditions.
