Clone 5F23 is a ZooMAb^® Rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Chromogranin A. It targets an epitope within the C-terminal half.

His-tagged recombinant fragment corresponding to 183 amino acids from the C-terminal half of human Chromogranin A.

Quality Control Testing

Evaluated by Western Blotting in A549 cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected Chromogranin A in A549 cell lysate.

Tested applications

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Chromogranin A in HepG2 cell lysate.

Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound Chromogranin A with a KD of 3.3 x 10-7 in an affinity binding assay.

Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Chromogranin A in human pancreas tissue sections.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected Chromogranin A in SH-SY5Y cells.

Anti-Chromogranin A, clone 5F23 ZooMAb^®, Cat. No. ZRB1251, is a recombinant Rabbit monoclonal antibody that specifically targets Chromogranin A and is tested in Affinity Binding Assay, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, and Western Blotting.

Chromogranin-A (UniProt: P10645; also known as CgA, Pituitary secretory protein I, SP-I) is encoded by the CHGA gene (Gene ID: 1113) in human. Chromogranin-A is a secreted protein that is synthesized with a signal peptide aa 1-18), which is subsequently cleaved off to produce the mature form that is further cleaved into 18 different chains with various biological activities. Notably amongst these are Pancreastatin (aa 272-319) that inhibits glucose induced insulin release from the pancreas, Catestain (aa 370-390) that blocks catecholamine release from chromaffin cells and noradrenergic neurons, and Serpinin (aa 429-454) that regulates granule biogenesis in endocrine cells by up-regulating the transcription of protease nexin 1. It may be secreted in the blood as a full-length protein or in fragments after cleavage. Due to its primary expression throughout the neuroendocrine system, it has been widely accepted biomarker for the assessment of neuro-endocrine tumors. It has also been correlated with a several non-malignant systemic disorders, such as hypertension, cardiac, and hepatic failure. This ZooMAb^® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our proprietary technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.(Ref.: Gkolfinopoulos, S., et al. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb^® formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
