Application

Tyrosinase Fragment 369-377 human is a peptide used for controlling the melanin production.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Tyrosinase Fragment 369-377 human is a peptide fragment of enzyme tyrosinase belongs to tyrosinase family. It catalyzes three distinct reactions, the hydroxylation of a monophenol, the dehydrogenation of a catechol and the dehydrogenation of a dihydroxyindole during biosynthesis of melanin.
The Tyrosinase enzyme catalyzes the first steps in the conversion of tyrosine to melanin. This is a membrane bound enzyme expressed in primary and metastatic melanoma lesions. The Tyrosine fragment 369-377 peptide is presented by HLA-A2 antigen to CTLs.

The biosynthesis of melanin is initiated by the catalytic oxidation of tyrosine to dopa by tyrosinase in a reaction that requires dopa as a cofactor. Tyrosine then catalyzes the dehydrogenation of dopa to dopaquinone. The subsequent reactions can proceed spontaneously
