Application

Nα-p-Tosyl-L-arginine methyl ester hydrochloride has been used as an esterolytic substrate to assess trypsin-like activity in midgut extracts. It has also been used as a substrate for measuring trypsin activity of pancreatin and human intestinal samples.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Nα-p-Tosyl-L-arginine methyl ester (TAME) binds to anaphase-promoting complex (APC) and prevents its activation by Cdc20 and Cdh1.

Microtubule inhibitors are important cancer drugs that induce mitotic arrest by activating the spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC), which, in turn, inhibits the ubiquitin ligase activity of the anaphase-promoting complex (APC). Here, we report a small molecule, tosyl-L-arginine methyl ester (TAME)
