Biochem/physiol Actions
Tyrosinase is a copper-containing enzyme that catalyzes four steps in the melanin and catecholamine synthesis pathways. It catalyzes the formation of L-DOPA (L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine) in the brain and nervous system. It oxidizes monophenols and o-diphenols to o-quinones. The molecular mass is approximately 60 kDa.

While histological analysis represents a powerful tool for the classification of melanocytic lesions as benign or malignant, a clear-cut distinction between a nevus and a melanoma is sometimes a challenging step of the diagnostic process. The immunohistochemical detection of tyrosinase

Tyrosinase is the key enzyme that controls melanin formation in the human skin. We performed a screening of 96 extracts of mushroom cultures and fruiting bodies for examining their inhibitory activity against mushroom tyrosinase. The ethyl acetate extracts of culture
