Gene Information

human ... RIPK3(11035)

General description

Receptor interacting serine/threonine kinase 3 (RIPK3)/RIP3 is a serine/threonine kinase. It belongs to the receptor-interacting protein family. RIPK3 is characterized with a conserved amino-terminal kinase domain, which is necessary for necrosis. The gene RIPK3 is mapped to human chromosome 14. The encoded protein is composed of 518 amino acids.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Receptor interacting serine/threonine kinase 3 (RIPK3) activates necroptotic cell death and has a role in inflammatory signaling. The protein also functions in controlling viral infections, platelet functions, hemostasis and thrombosis. RIPK3 is highly expressed during cutaneous wound repair and also stimulates interleukin-1 β production.

Physical form

Supplied in 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150 mM NaCl, 10 mM glutathione, 0.1 mM EDTA, 0.25 mM DTT, 0.1 mM PMSF, 25% glycerol.

Preparation Note

After opening, aliquot into smaller quantities and store at -70 °C. Avoid repeating handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
