General description

Interleukin 16 (IL-16), also known as lymphocyte chemoattractant factor (LCF), stimulates a migratory response in CD4+ T cells and CD4+ monocytes and eosinophils. In addition, human IL-16 induces expression of the IL-2 receptor by T cells. mouse IL-16 is a 13.2 kDa protein containing 127 amino acid residues.

Physical form

Lyophilized from 5 mM Sodium Phosphate, pH 7.6.

Preparation Note

Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1 mg/mL. The solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
