Synthetic retinoid with antiproliferative activity
WYC-209 is a synthetic retinoid with antiproliferative activity and better inhibition of cancer cell growth and proliferation than Tazarotene or ATRA (all-trans-retinoic acid). WYC-209 was shown to inhibit proliferation of malignant murine melanoma tumor-repopulating cells (TRCs) with an IC50 value of 190 nM and also inhibited proliferation of TRCs of human melanoma, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and breast cancer in culture.
