Gene Information
human ... AFF3(3899)
General description
AF4/FMR2 family member 3 (AFF3), a tissue-restricted nuclear transcriptional activator, is mainly expressed in the lymphoid tissue. This RNA binding protein is a member of the AF4/LAF4/FMR2/AF5q31 family. AFF3 is a component of the transcriptional super elongation complex. It is expressed at a high level in the thymus. AFF3 has two domains with transactivation activity. This lymphoid-specific gene, is located on the human chromosome 2q11.2.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide directed towards the middle region of human AFF3
Biochem/physiol Actions
AF4/FMR2 family member 3 (AFF3) participates in transcriptional regulation. It is a potential clinical modulator of estrogen receptor (ER) signaling. This transcription activator can play a role in lymphoid development and cancer. It can bind to double-stranded DNA in vitro. AFF3 overexpression causes tamoxifen resistance and estrogen-independent proliferation in ER+ human breast tumors.
Sequence
Synthetic peptide located within the following region: APATKDSESAPPSHTSDTPAEKALPKSKRKRKCDNEDDYREIKKSQGEKD
Physical form
Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Although tamoxifen is a highly effective drug for treating estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer, nearly all patients with metastasis with initially responsive tumors eventually relapse, and die from acquired drug resistance. Unfortunately, few molecular mediators of tamoxifen resistance have been

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common autoimmune disease with a strong genetic component. Numerous aberrant immune responses have been described during the evolution of the disease. In later years, the appearance of anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPAs) has become a hallmark

The ALF transcription factor paralogs, AFF1, AFF2, AFF3, and AFF4, are components of the transcriptional super elongation complex that regulates expression of genes involved in neurogenesis and development. We describe an autosomal dominant disorder associated with de novo missense variants
